Job Description:
North Cobb Christian School seeks a qualified and spiritually mature individual to serve as a Middle School Chaplain. This position combines the roles of a pastoral leader and a licensed counselor, providing spiritual guidance, biblical counseling, and emotional support to our middle school students, staff, and families. The ideal candidate will foster a Christ-centered environment that aligns with our school’s mission to cultivate academic excellence and spiritual growth through a biblical worldview. The Chaplain serves the Middle School as a catalyst for student development and spiritual growth. They will provide strategic leadership for programs, services, planning, and assessment to foster student development and success. The Chaplain will advocate for students, support the development of the community, and work collaboratively with faculty and other campus offices to strengthen the relationship between co-curricular and academic programs to engage students and enhance learning. The Chaplain works with the rest of the staff to develop long-term strategies for retention and accountability. The Middle School Principal is the direct supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Spiritual Leadership:
- Planned and led regular chapel services and retreats and provided devotional leadership to students and staff.
- Offer pastoral care and mentorship to students, staff, and families.
- Collaborate with teachers and administration to integrate biblical principles into the school culture.
- Be a resource for students as it pertains to evangelism and discipleship
- Counseling Services:
- Provide individual and group counseling using biblical counseling principles.
- Address emotional, social, and spiritual concerns of students in a compassionate, Christ-centered manner.
- Assist students in navigating challenges such as peer relationships, family issues, and academic stress through a biblical lens.
- Provide crisis intervention and guidance in alignment with biblical principles when needed.
- Ministry Engagement:
- Organize and participate in school ministry activities, such as prayer groups, Bible studies, and service projects.
- Develop programs and initiatives that promote character development, leadership, and discipleship.
- Serve as a resource for staff on spiritual and emotional matters.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with administration to uphold school policies and ensure alignment with the school’s mission and values.
- Work closely with the Middle School Student Dean in the discipline of the student body and in activity planning of student events.
- Partner with parents and guardians to support students’ spiritual and emotional well-being.
- Coordinate the schedule for technical and audio/visual needs related to chapel services and other events.
- Work within the annual budget approved by the Director of Finance
- Assist in the budget revision process as necessary
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in biblical counseling, pastoral ministry, theology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of pastoral or ministry experience.
- Certification in biblical counseling through a recognized Christian organization.
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in a Christian counseling or pastoral capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Scripture and ability to apply biblical principles to real-life situations.

- Previous experience in a Christian school setting.
