Title: Moving Forward Program (MFP) Upper School Academic Support CoachThis position supports students with diagnosed learning differences. The MFP Support Coach focuses on advancing students’ academic progress, executive functioning, and self-advocacy skills while helping them realize their potential to impact the world for Christ.
Reports To: Director of Moving Forward Program

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or a related field (required).
- At least five years of experience teaching or working with small groups of students with learning or performance challenges.
- Middle and Upper School experience (preferred).
- Private school experience (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of current best practices for supporting students with diagnosed learning differences.
- Expertise in executive functioning and supporting skill development in students and classrooms.
- Proficiency with Google applications and general computer literacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with parents, students, teachers, and other professionals.
- Highly organized, with strong problem-solving abilities and flexibility to prioritize tasks.
- Proactive and self-motivated.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Academic Support Coach works directly with students through one-on-one coaching, test room coordination, and case-load management while collaborating closely with parents and classroom teachers to create a supportive and effective learning environment. The role also includes consulting with faculty to enhance teaching strategies and support systems for students with learning differences.
Test Room Coordination:
- Serve as the point of contact for teachers and parents regarding assessment expectations and procedures.
- Maintain a secure and supportive testing environment, ensuring test integrity.
- Prepare and organize assessments, including printing and accommodating materials in advance.
- Implement individualized testing accommodations such as:
- Paraphrasing or summarizing test directions and questions.
- Responding to student inquiries about test content without providing answers.
- Coordinating extended time accommodations and other necessary tools (e.g., Google Read & Write software).
Case-Load Management:
- Meet weekly one-on-one with assigned students to support their academic progress and personal growth.
- Help students advocate for their accommodations and navigate their learning differences confidently.
- Monitor each student’s progress and address challenges in collaboration with teachers and parents.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and teachers to ensure alignment and support.
- Actively track and document student progress, meeting goals, and accommodations updates.
