Winter Job Opportunity: Snow Shovelers and Hand Laborers – Glens Falls and Capital Region, NY
Looking for winter work? Join North Country Snow and Ice Management and become part of a dedicated team of snow professionals! We are hiring approximately 50 reliable Hand Laborers to shovel snow, operate snow blowers and other small equipment, and apply deicing materials on commercial sites.
Responsibilities
- Clear snow from sidewalks, driveways, and other designated areas using shovels and snow removal equipment on commercial sites.
- Apply deicer to walkways as needed to prevent ice accumulation.
- Ensure all areas are safe and accessible for pedestrians and vehicles.
- Report any hazardous conditions or required repairs to management.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including hand tools and power tools used for snow removal.
What We’re Looking For:
- Dependability: Must be reliable and available to work on an on-call basis with irregular hours. When it snows, we work.
- Flexibility: Available 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in cold weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Weather-Ready: Must be comfortable working in extreme weather conditions and have warm winter gear (including waterproof snow boots).
- Strong Attention to Detail and commitment to safety practices
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team when necessary.
- Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to get to work promptly when called in for a storm.
Required Qualifications:
- A valid form of photo ID (driver’s license not required).
- Ability to work long hours in cold, snowy conditions.
- Must be flexible and available for irregular, on-call shifts during winter storms.
Potential for Year-Round Work: Select candidates with prior experience may be considered for year-round, full-time positions in our Landscaping, Construction, and Masonry Departments after the winter season.
