What are the responsibilities and job description for the Greenhouse Associate position at North Country Growers?
North Country Growers is seeking full-time Greenhouse Associates to join our team at our state-of-the-art Controlled Environment Agriculture facility in Berlin, NH. As a Greenhouse Associate you will start by taking part in all aspects of growing from propagation to harvesting. The current schedule will be Monday through Friday with rotating weekend duties. Once the greenhouse is fully operational seven days a week, the Greenhouse Associates’ schedule and specific duties are subject to change. Appropriate shift differential compensation will be paid.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Work with innovative greenhouse equipment to assist in planting, transplanting, harvesting, and packaging fresh salad greens, herbs and other vegetables.
- Balance multiple tasks within the greenhouse to help support teammates.
- Operate equipment to clean, fill, seed, transplant, and harvest growing trays and pack orders for delivery.
- Record and document information related to germination, planting, harvesting, growth, and food safety.
- Prepare and track cumulative transplanting, harvesting, and packing totals.
- Complete daily operational checklists, including water, and nutrients.
- Clean work areas and systems including lines, valves, plant trays, seeding, pack-lines, harvest, and other equipment.
- Communicate and cooperate with coworkers, supervisors, and managers.
- As a food production facility strict protocol and guidelines for food-safe operation will be enforced. This will include, but is not limited to, following regulations and procedures regarding hygiene, clothing, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), safety, operations, and training.
- Participate in any required company training, including safety and food safety.
- Assist and perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
The following physical requirements of the job are required to be performed with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Ability to remain in a stationary standing position up to 95% of the time.
- Constantly adjust and/or move in all directions objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lifting 20 pounds up to 6 feet.
- Occasionally adjust and/or move in all directions objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Mobility to frequently move about the worksite, or between worksites, to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to work in all weather and environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to constantly perform repetitive motions that may include the arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Ability to use and comfortably work with automated equipment.
- Ability and visual acuity to observe details at close range.
- Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
- Ability to descend and ascend steps.
