Position Statement
The PCU Unit clerk is responsible for administrative support for the multi-disciplinary team and assists with communication between healthcare partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcomes patient’s families and visitors. Assists them with wayfinding with general hospital and/or unit questions.
- Answers the telephone and directs calls to appropriate parties.
- Coordinates frequently with other North Country Hospital departments to facilitate patient care and unit functioning.
- Communicates with external partners to connect healthcare providers in planning patient care and transfers.
- Creates and maintains portions of patient charts (both physical and electronic patient records).
- Performs scanning, copying, and faxing as needed.
- Strives to improve the quality of patient care through personal development and unit projects.
- Collaborates with teammates to promote and preserve a positive work-place culture.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Current BLS certification required. Classes and certification offered by Employer.
- Maintains current AVADE certification. Classes and certification offered by Employer.
