What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packager position at North Country Smokehouse?
The production team member will perform a variety of tasks related to the manufacturing and packaging of our products in our fast-paced refrigerated facility. The basic function of the packager is to do the final processing of the product and package processed meat products. All in compliance with the standards of wholesomeness, hygiene, health & safety at work.
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES:
- Perform a wide variety of packaging tasks including the roll stock machines, slicers and the vacuum machines
- Move products and materials as required in performance of duties
- Maintain quality and quantity performance standards
- Visually check work after completion for cosmetic appearance and noticeable defects
- Maintain necessary records
- Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean, orderly, and operable condition
- May be assigned to different workstations as production needs require
PERSON TO SUPERVISE:
- Position without supervision of personnel
IN COLLABORATION WITH:
- Quality Control
- Warehouse
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Good physical shape (able to lift 50 pounds)
- Autonomy, versatility, thoroughness, and resourcefulness
- Good speed of execution (fast paced environment)
- Strong commitment to teamwork and concern for others
- High level of personal responsibility and ownership
- Highly detail oriented and meticulous
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must be able to work in a cold environment
- Wear clean smock, hair net, bump cap, sleeves, gloves, and steel-toe boots at all times.
- Able to read and follow detailed procedures
- Follow safe work practices
- Able to pass a criminal background check, physical and drug screen
Job Type: Full-time
