We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and provide support to our veterinarians. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal care, be comfortable working with a variety of animals, have excellent attendance and customer service skills. The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for providing basic medical care, assisting with animal examinations, administering medications, and helping to maintain a clean and organized work environment. Candidates with prior surgical assisting experience will be considered first.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the veterinarian in providing medical care to animals.
- Restrain animals during examinations and treatments.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor anesthetic procedures under doctor supervision
- Monitor animal recovery after surgery or other medical procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments and medications administered to animals.
- Clean and maintain cages, kennels, and other areas of the veterinary clinic.
- Assist in the preparation of laboratory samples for analysis.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
