North Los Angeles County Regional Center (" NLACRC ") is a private, non-profit organization that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants and toddlers, school-age children, and Transition-age youth, to adults and aging adults.
Scope
The Director of Privacy & Compliance serves as the organization's Privacy Officer and has oversight of the organization's privacy and compliance programs and Contract Administration Department.
Supervision
Receives general supervision from the Chief Financial Officer
The Position and Job Summary .
- Responsible for the management oversight of the Organizational Privacy and Compliance and Contract Administration Department.
- Responsible for directing the organization's privacy practices and protection of consumer health information in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws.
- Responsible for the organization's Privacy Oversight Committee.
- Responsible for negotiating operational contract terms, conditions, and pricing, and ensuring that contracts are accurately executed and satisfied.
- Responsible for compliance with the organization's Performance Contract, Purchase of Services, National Core Indicator, Caseload Ratios, and other state directives and reporting requirements.
- Oversight of the organization's compliance with the Public Records Act.
- Responsible for the organization's records retention policies.
- Conducts investigations into privacy violations if needed.
- Provides consultation and direction to Regional Center employees with regards to discharging all job duties related to compliance, service coordination, and education advocacy.
- Assists with cross-functional teams to develop systems to ensure the agency's contractual, statutory, and regulatory compliance.
- May represent the agency or serve as a liaison to governmental and community agencies, boards and committees, and / or outside groups.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Mentors staff in professional growth and development, evaluates and monitors staff performance, and addresses performance issues as needed.
Employment Standards
Thorough knowledge of the California developmental services systems, including the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, California Codes of Regulations, administrative principles and practices, California state directives and initiatives, and applicable federal and state laws and regulations including but not limited to HITECH ACT, HIPAA, CPRA, and the Public Records Act.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of multiple, cross-functional departments; critical review and decision making in the administration of program and service standards; interpretation of complex governmental (and other) regulatory information; and strong oral and written communications.

Compensation
This position is exempt. Salary Range : $135,750 - $167,250 annually.
