The Office of Attorney General is seeking a strategic and experienced professional to serve as Gaming Division Director. This key leadership position is responsible for overseeing the regulation of charitable gaming across the state, ensuring integrity and compliance with applicable laws and rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Division Leadership: Supervise and support Gaming Division staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and collaboration.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the division's operating budget to ensure efficient use of resources and compliance with fiscal policies.
- Audit and Investigation Oversight: Direct audits and investigations of regulated gaming entities to identify and address potential violations.
- Legislative Engagement: Provide accurate and timely information and testimony to legislators and legislative committees. Track and analyze legislation impacting gaming regulation.
- Commission Support: Prepare and present reports and recommendations to the Gaming Commission and manage administrative support for the Commission.
- Tribal Compact Collaboration: Serve as a liaison with the Governor's Office in matters concerning the tribal gaming compact.
- Enforcement Action: Identify gaming violations and carry out or recommend appropriate corrective actions and penalties.
- Education and Outreach: Conduct training sessions and distribute information to charitable organizations and other stakeholders regarding gaming laws and compliance requirements.
- Licensing Coordination: Collaborate with licensing staff to ensure proper licensure of charitable gaming organizations.
- Reporting: Compile and submit quarterly reports detailing gaming activities and regulatory actions statewide
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least eight years of progressively responsible experience in regulatory compliance, auditing, accounting, or public administration roles
- At least five years of demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
- High ethical standards and a strong sense of professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective, cooperative, and professional relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, legislators, and the public.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to manage complex and detailed information efficiently and accurately.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including strong planning, coordination, and oversight skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Proven ability to communicate tactfully and deliver superior customer service in both routine and high-pressure situations.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
