LEGAL ASSISTANT
Position Number: 125-599
Salary Range: $4000-4848 (includes a fully paid family health insurance plan, defined contribution retirement plan, 10 paid holidays)
Location: 500 North 9th Street, Bismarck, ND
Selecting Supervisor: Courtney Titus, Director, Civil Litigation
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to join our team. This exciting opportunity will support attorneys by managing case files, drafting and reviewing legal documents, maintaining and coordinating attorney schedules, and ensuring efficient workflow within the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
- Manage case files, maintain accurate records, and track deadlines.
- Review case files, conduct legal research, and gather relevant case information.
- Coordinate attorney schedules, court appearances, and client meetings.
- Communicate with clients, general public, and court personnel professionally and promptly.
- Draft and proofread correspondence, legal documents, and reports. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in political science or other legal studies, business, English, communications or a related degree.
- Or an Associate degree in political science or other legal studies, business, English, research communications or a related deg or related coursework and two years of work experience performing a variety of high-level complex office support, clerical or secretarial work that includes lead work, document review and drafting, or office coordination responsibilities.
- Additional work experience will substitute the degree requirements on a year for year basis.
