Salary Range: $7,000 per month. Includes a fully paid family health insurance plan, defined contribution retirement plan, 10 paid holidays

This is position is in Bismarck, North Dakota. All normal work hours will be conducted in person, in an office setting. No remote work or hybrid work is available.

This small but impactful office provides analysis, design, development, and support for a wide range of applications, including large-scale systems that serve the Office of Attorney General and hundreds of criminal justice professionals across North Dakota.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Design Solutions: Create custom software applications that align with system resources and programming capabilities to support the agency's needs.
- Ensure System Compatibility: Collaborate with programming staff, users, and support teams to maintain software integrity and seamless functionality.
- Analyze Feasibility: Assess automation opportunities and determine project estimates, plans, schedules, budgets, and product requirements.
- Maintain and Enhance Software: Perform ongoing updates and maintenance to ensure continued functionality and agency benefit.
- Lead Special Projects: Serve as a project leader/manager when expertise or seniority is needed for successful execution.
- Develop Testing Strategies: Create testing tools, methodologies, and procedures for agency users, public users, and state-wide criminal justice and non-criminal justice agencies.
- Document and Support Users: Prepare system documentation, user guides, and instruction manuals to enhance usability and understanding.
- Handle Administrative Tasks: Complete required reports, forms, and communications as needed.
- Mentor Contract Programmers: Provide guidance on agency business and technical processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or another computer related field, and two years of related work experience within the last 4 years. Additional work experience, as described, may substitute for up to two years of the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
If unable to fill the position with the above minimum qualifications, the hiring agency may consider filling at a lower-level with a hiring salary of $5503-$6289 per month.
Lower-level minimum qualifications would be:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or another computer related field.
- Related work experience within the last 4 years, may substitute for up to two years of the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
