Job Description
As a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA), you will play a key role at NDAC helping to empower and enrich the lives of all individuals. You will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinic Administration. The primary function of the BCBA is to plan, develop, and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. The BCBA also consults with and teaches instructional team members regarding proactive, educational, programming, and behavioral supports; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and collaborates with team members, related services providers, families, and other agencies as appropriate. The BCBA manages caseloads and provides ongoing training and direct supervision to team members.
Job duties for a BCBA include but are not limited to:
- Use appropriate assessment instruments and data to develop and implement teaching programs that reflect behavioral and other outcomes and objectives identified in the Individual Family Support Plan (IFSP).
- Develop new programs and perform ongoing modifications to current programs as needed.
- Provide training, supervision, and instructional aides through observations, meetings, performance coaching, demonstrations, and other methods.
- Establish and maintain data measurement, collection, and analysis systems for clients receiving behavioral interventions. Maintain appropriate documentation and prepare and complete reports as required.
- Ensure that all treatment plans and programs comply with contract requirements, satisfy all relevant insurance certification and other expectations, and meet or exceed professional standards. Maintain highly organized, consistent, thorough, and systematic record keeping practices.
- Oversee end-to-end Behavior Therapy care to all individuals in your caseload, including intake, active treatment, treatment plan updates, fade plans, and discharge plans according to ethical standards and company policy. Ensures quality to recipient of services throughout the entire process.
- Establishes effective relationships with clients and family. Acts with client’s best intent in mind.
- Promote positive public relations, facilitate interagency collaboration, and advocate for the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive services.
- Support staff in meeting productivity requirements, provide competency evaluations of staff to ensure they are providing quality care.
- Maintains all expectations of BCBA certification including ND Behavior Analyst License and Continuing Education Credits.
Physical demands placed on a BCBA:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift approximately 25 pounds, run, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear.
Work Environment a BCBA will work in:
Environments include clinic setting, school setting, home setting, and community setting.
Education/Experience for a BCBA:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Child Development, Special Education, Applied Behavioral Analysis, or related program.
- An active BCBA Certification from the BACB
- ND Behavior Analyst License
- Minimum of three years of experience working with children with ASD
Specialized training, Certifications, and Licenses for a BCBA:
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of insurance
- CPR certification complete and maintained
- First Aid certification complete and maintained
- Therapeutic Response and/or Safety Care certification complete and maintained
- NDAC Training and Competency Requirements complete and maintained
Additional requirements of a BCBA:
- Must have cleared and approved criminal record check.
- Must have legal work status in the United States
- Must have a reliable means of transportation
