What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commissary Specialist position at North Dakota Corrections & Rehab?
Summary of Work
Develop and implement strategies to provide good quality products at a fair and reasonable price while generating a fair profit for the organization. Provide work opportunities for inmates (residents) at JRCC.
Duties include x-raying, stacking, and storing of commissary inventory; filling institutional orders; supervise the loading and delivery of orders by inmate (resident) workers; act in a limited capacity as a purchasing agent by maintaining an efficient inventory control system, monitoring inventory control levels, ordering inventory by initiating a purchase order; input inventories and other data into a computer software system. The position requires the ability to work with an inmate (resident) population daily.
Assist with cut and sew industries, which includes the assembly and manufacturing of high-quality products, ability to read and comprehend shop drawings and work orders, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust equipment to ensure proper operation, designing of new products.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of retail or similar prior work experience. Requires walking, standing, and bending, moving and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must successfully complete interview and standard background and criminal record check. Must possess a valid ND driver's license.
