What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at North Dakota Corrections & Rehab?
Summary of Work
Coordinate and direct daily operations of sick call, doctor call, medical, psychiatry, physical therapy and other contract medical services within JRCC. Arrange and prioritize multiple clinic schedules and provide guidance for clinical operations and infirmary operations in the JRCC medical department. Ensure nursing coverage for a medium security facility operating 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Duties and Tasks
Maintain a cost-effective and efficient care delivery model to ensure a community standard of healthcare for the residents of JRCC.
Maintain financial records, oversee inventory, and prepare budget proposals.
Provide daily ongoing supervision and direction to JRCC medical department staff.
Maintain legal and ethical standards within the JRCC Medical Department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires an unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse through the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
- At least three years administrative nursing experience or three years correctional nursing experience.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical aspects of nursing and related practice.
- Ability to cover a shift as a Charge RN when needed.
