Summary of Work

As a Parole and Probation Officer, you will supervise individuals on parole or probation, conduct client intakes, develop case plans, and manage cases. You may also assist in parole investigations for the Parole Board and other investigations as needed. The role involves exposure to hazardous conditions that could lead to serious physical injury, requiring medical attention and potential lost work time, though this exposure is intermittent. You will collaborate with the courts, law enforcement, the Parole Board, the Pardon Advisory Board, human service centers, Transitional Planning Services, and social service agencies. Minimum Qualifications

Parole and Probation Officer II minimum qualifications:

A bachelor's degree is preferred in behavioral science, education, business, or a related field with three years of work experience in a corrections, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health setting. Eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota.
An associate's degree with five years of work experience with individuals in corrections, law enforcement, social work, education or behavioral health setting may be considered. Must be licensable as a ND peace officer under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 12-63 and pass the critical task assessment.
Must attend basic peace officer training recognized by the ND POST Board ensuring authorization to perform the peace officer duties of a Parole and Probation Officer in accordance with North Dakota Century Code Section 12-59-20. Valid Class D driver's license and pass a thorough background investigation and criminal record check.

Parole and Probation Officer I Minimum Qualifications:

Eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota.

This employment offer is based on the condition that you successfully pass a pre-employment (prior to start date) physical examination, drug testing, psychologic examination and the Critical Task Assessment (CTA) fitness test in a time not exceeding 7 minutes and 15 seconds.
