What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at North Dakota Historical Society?
Summary of Work
The maintenance technician will execute his/her responsibilities with a positive attitude, neat appearance, and friendly and pleasant demeanor toward all coworkers and visitors at the state historic sites. The successful applicant will:
- assist in mowing and trimming grass at several state historic sites throughout the region
- remove trash from all locations and transport to designated dumpster
- perform other duties as determined by the Historic Sites Maintenance and Construction Supervisor
- assist the Historic Sites Maintenance and Construction Supervisor with small maintenance and construction projects
- perform all maintenance duties on machinery, tools, and other equipment to keep them in proper working order
- assist in maintaining inventory of supplies on hand and inform supervisor of needs
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to operate a lawnmower
- Ability to work flexible work hours
- Must adhere to dress code
Experience in the following is preferred:
- grounds-keeping, operation of power tools, and janitorial work
- gas and diesel powered equipment and small engines
- welding/spot welding to repair equipment when needed
