What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker I position at North Dakota School for the Deaf?
Summary of Work
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in assigned areas such as offices, hallways, restroom, gymnasium, pool area and classrooms.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste accordingly.
- Clean and sanitize restroom, locker rooms and pool deck including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap in restrooms and other designated areas.
- Wipe down surfaces, including tables, counters, and windowsills, to maintain a tidy appearance.
- Operate and maintain custodial equipment.
- Assist with maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs, painting, pool testing and seasonal grounds work.
- Follow safety guidelines and use cleaning chemicals properly to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a professional a courteous demeanor when interacting with NDSD/RC staff, students, or visitors.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Applicant will be required to become certified pool operator to test/assist with pool testing.
