Position Overview :
Join a dynamic team dedicated to engaging diverse youth across North Dakota! As the Program Assistant, you will play a key role in managing essential systems, including 4-H Online, UltraCamp, FairEntry, and Judgingcard.com, while also supporting statewide activities and events. Your work will involve assisting with program learning and implementation, ensuring seamless collaboration between the state 4-H office and Extension agents to keep operations running smoothly
Primary Responsibilities :
- Lead office support for the following statewide programs : 4-H Online (enrollment management and program / event support) UltraCamp (camp management) FairEntry (fair management and program support) Judgingcard.com (contest and event management)
- Provide administrative assistance to the assistant director and state 4-H specialists.
- Provide contest management support and facilitation (catering, room rental, award ordering, billing, registration, participant 4-H online verification, etc.)
- Coordinate and deliver trainings on 4-H platforms, club management, and other key elements of the ND 4-H Program.
- Manage volunteer screening, 4-H Club Chartering, and state insurance re-enrollment processes.
- Support North Dakota State Fair operations and assist with 4-H Policy Committee initiatives.
- Supervise and assign tasks to work-study students.
- Develop, edit, and manage educational materials and data for reports.
- Ensure effective file management, storage, and oversee key office support functions.
- Schedule staff meetings and maintain meeting notes.
- Provide support to state Extension offices as needed, including troubleshooting platform issues and responding to inquiries from staff, volunteers, and stakeholders.Promote equal opportunities and support diversity in all activities.
Professional Expectations :
Work Schedule :
Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a full-time with a minimum of 40 hours per week, 12-month non-tenure track position within NDSU Extension, entailing occasional evening and weekend commitments. Instead of accruing overtime, extended hours are flexed into time off. Statewide travel is required. Overnight trips will also be required on occasion for meetings, activities, training, and professional development. This role operates under the supervision of the 4-H Youth Development Assistant Director. This position will be housed within the state 4-H office, conveniently situated on the NDSU campus in Fargo, specifically in the Family Life Center (FLC) building, room 219.
Advertised Salary :
45,000 ; to commensurate upon experience.
