Description & Details :
We are looking for a motivated individual to assist in evaluating plant, avian, and pollinator communities in mixed-grass prairie managed with cattle through virtual fencing technology. This individual will become an integral part of a community of technicians and graduate students dedicated to investigating conservation practices that can improve biodiversity in working landscapes. By obtaining this position, the individual will be exposed to numerous research methods and experiences that can improve their eligibility for future employment or studies in the field of natural resource management. Start and end dates are flexible and can be discussed during interviews.
Primary duties will include :
- Line-transect distance sampling of grassland birds
- Data collection on plant community structure and composition
- Plant-pollinator surveys
In addition to primary data collection, individuals can expect to be tasked with data entry and assisting with other projects at the Research Centers.
Work Schedule :
40 hrs / week, variable schedule
Advertised Pay :
16 / hr housing provided at Central Grasslands Research Center in Streeter, ND
