Summary Of Work

The Safety Consultant provides safety consulting services to employers in North Dakota and increases the number of WSI customers served in the area.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For

  • Providing Safety Consulting services for WSI customers.
  • Working through WSI Safety Incentive Programs.
  • Assess customer's safety management system and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Gather data from WSI loss runs, worksite inspections, and on-site meetings with management and employees.
  • Meet with the customer at the end of the premium period to assess if the customer met the requirements for a premium discount.
  • Attending seminars for professional development and safety research.
  • Loss Control referrals/accident investigations.
  • Provide safety training and public information.
  • Impromptu safety inspections and follow-up on safety concerns with employers.

Physical Demands

  • Mobility: Frequent walking, standing, and climbing stairs or ladders to access varied work environments, including construction sites, manufacturing facilities, and office settings.
  • Strength: Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds of training materials or equipment.
  • Stamina: Prolonged periods of driving to customer locations and standing during training sessions or on-site evaluations.
  • Environment: Exposure to industrial or outdoor conditions such as noise, dust, and temperature variations.
  • Vision: Adequate visual acuity to inspect workplace environments and review documents or data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or another related field.
  • Two years of work experience in professional occupational safety is required.
  • Additional work experience in professional occupational safety may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • A Masters degree in Occupational Safety may substitute for the work experience requirement.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
