CERTIFICATION :
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate by the State Board for Educator Certification

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Supervision and coordination of the athletic program on the high school campus. This position includes complete responsibility for the total athletic program in terms of coaching and staff organization in conjunction with the principal and athletic director, the Athletic Coordinator is to assign all campus coaches and maintain supervision over their coaching duties. Responsible for adding to the total educational experience through athletics that will contribute to the general welfare and development of each student.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Fulfills the responsibilities of coaching and administering the football program at all levels.
2. Assigns duties to the individual assuming the Assistant Athletic Coordinator's responsibilities - Works with this individual and the Athletic Director in providing training to execute the duties.
3. Evaluates campus coaches as to their coaching effectiveness in the sports under their supervision.
4. Serves in an administrative capacity in supervision and in conflict resolution in the sports assigned.
5. Works with the athletic director in evaluating and ordering all sports related equipment.
6. Works with the principal to ensure the athletic booster club activities follow school district and UIL rules in all sports.
7. Works with the athletic director, middle school administration and coaches to assist in the development of the middle school athletic program.
8. Works with the principal and athletic director in the management and accounting for all campus athletic equipment and facilities.
9. Initiates and processes work orders for all assigned athletic facilities.
10. Coordinates and assigns personnel and workout time periods for the physical development room and is responsible for ordering all weight room equipment and insuring its safety.
11. Responsible for staff development in athletics, arranging for facilities and equipment for such meetings.
12. Works with the athletic director in assignment of campus personnel to work district activities and in compiling reports.
13. Assists the athletic director as needed in coordinating campus and varsity level athletic events.
14. Serves as campus coordinator of physical education.
15. Supervises the collection of campus game revenue and assignment of work responsibilities.
16. Organizes and is responsible for all summer camp and recreation activities on the campus.
17. Maintains confidentiality of information.
18. Occasionally required to drive District and/or personal vehicle in the performance of assigned duties.
19. Reports to work on time every day.
20. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, lift and transfer students and transport students in a District vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
