SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Building Maintenance Worker II is responsible for the ongoing and minor maintenance repairs for NEMS buildings and grounds (non-permit/licensed repairs), and act as a backup for drivers and janitors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs all the duties of a Building Maintenance Worker I
- Responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate
- Performs general repairs of all buildings fixtures i.e. replace water drain, leak issues etc.
- Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures
- Assist in completing daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
- Escort and assist vendors when needed
- Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in building maintenance
- Knowledge in maintenance supplies, equipments, materials and methods used
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance in using equipment to complete assigned tasks
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
- Current and valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work in a group and independently
LANGUAGE:
- Bilingual in English and Cantonese preferred.
STATUS:
- This is an FLSA Non-exempt position.
- This is an OSHA high-risk position.
- This is a Full Time position.
