SUMMARY OF POSITION :

The Managed Care Principal System Architect will lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of a comprehensive managed care system architecture strategy, with a primary focus on Epic Tapestry. This role requires ensuring that the architecture aligns with business objectives, supports functional operations, and promotes system scalability, interoperability, and efficiency.

The individual in this position will lead a team of certified Epic Tapestry analysts, ensuring the successful implementation and optimization of the system to meet organizational goals and industry standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Epic Tapestry System Leadership :

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the Epic Tapestry system, ensuring it aligns with the organization's managed care objectives.

  • Collaborate with Epic-certified analysts to configure, test, and deploy system components.
  • Develop and oversee a strategy for Epic Tapestry integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Team Management :
  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of Epic Tapestry-certified analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

  • Ensure team members remain up to date with Epic certifications and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership during all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Architecture Strategy Development :
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive managed care system architecture strategy and roadmap with Epic Tapestry as a core component.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage Epic Tapestry functionalities to improve system performance and achieve operational efficiencies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration :
  • Act as the primary liaison between business leaders, IT teams, and Epic representatives to ensure system alignment with organizational needs.

  • Engage with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, address challenges, and deliver solutions tailored to business processes.
  • Risk Management & Compliance :
  • Ensure the Epic Tapestry implementation complies with relevant regulations, including HIPAA, and adheres to organizational policies.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to the system's architecture and operations.
  • Performance Optimization :
  • Monitor the Epic Tapestry system's performance post-implementation and identify opportunities for further optimization.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system functionality and user satisfaction.
  • Documentation & Reporting :
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to Epic Tapestry design, configurations, and enhancements.

  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Perform other job duties as required by manager.
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or related field is required. Master's preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in system architecture and design, with at least 5 years in managed care or healthcare IT.
  • Epic Tapestry Certification (preferred).
  • Other certifications such as TOGAF or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
  • Proven leadership experience in implementing Epic Tapestry or other Epic modules.
  • Deep understanding of managed care systems, including DOFR, claims processing, UM system control, fee sets and fee schedules, provider management, EDI transmission and managed care reporting, eligibility and capitation.
  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.
  • Leadership experience managing and mentoring a team of certified analysts.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • LANGUAGE :

  • Must be able to fluently read, write and speak English.
  • Fluency in other languages is an asset.
  • STATUS :

    This is an FLSA exempt position.

    This is not an OSHA high-risk position.

    This is a full-time position.
