What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cafeteria Monitor position at North Elementary School?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perform functions in the service and clean-up of meal areas to cafeteria customers. Responsible for assisting Students with the distribution of condiments and disposal of trays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or E.D. The requirement may be waived after successful interview with school board personnel or the building principal
Ability to follow oral and written directions as well as work independently
Able to grasp and adjust to new and changing situations
Neat in appearance while wearing comfortable clothing and footwear
Ability to effectively interact with children in a positive, friendly, and cheerful manner
Ability to work and get along with other school staff members
REPORTS TO:
Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist students (elementary) as needed in finding seats in the cafeteria and opening food containers
Assist in the maintenance of orderly conduct in the cafeteria providing information to the appropriate staff member in the event disciplinary action needs to be taken
Clean tables of spills; wipe seats and mop spills as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Manual dexterity
Capability of repetitive motion
Long periods (2 or more hours) of standing and walking
Ability to work in a warm, humid environment
Ability to work under pressure
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Grade 4 on the hourly pay scale
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Personnel
