North Fabrication is looking for an experienced project manager wanting to join a team and help with growth/expansion. We are a fast paced company looking to expand exponentially over the next few years.

Job Description

Key Performance Objectives:

1. Manage all activities leading to the successful, timely, and safe completion of each project.

2. Manage the overall scheduling of each project; working with the project team to ensure project(s) are completed on time and all deadlines are met.

4. Ensure transparency, reporting and sharing of information effectively across all departments.

5. Manage job cost reporting for all projects and monthly billing; including invoicing and pay applications.

6. Promotes continuous improvement and contributing to company-wide polices, standards, and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily if not above expectations. Interpersonal Responsibilities:

1. Establish areas of accountability and performance objectives, monitors execution and provides ongoing feedback to ownership, project team, and client.

2. Serve as a resource for answering project team questions / concerns; including office, field and shop.

3. Communicate professionally, effectively, and within a timely manner with prospective and current clients through the bid phase. Available via phone, email or in person meetings to review estimates with prospective clients and / or project team.

4. Develop partnerships with outside carriers and maintains good standing relationships with customers. Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities and customer satisfaction opportunities.

Operational Responsibilities:

1. Manage the start-up and execution of all project documents; including but not limited to, budget, bid proposal(s), scope(s) of work, schedule of values, contracts, change orders, RFI’s, submittals, and closeout documents.

2. Maintain master set of drawings for each project; ensure project team has the correct and updated set.

3. Read and interpret established scope of work, plans, specifications, addenda(s), budget, schedule, and misc. correspondence regarding each project. Ensure complete understanding of all project requirements and oversees the project management.

4. Review and complete each project’s billing checklist, submit all billing to the Accounting Department prior to each project’s due date.

5. Understand and ensure adherence to all specifications, selections, and details during all phases of construction.

6. Communicate proactively with General Contractors, Trade partners and suppliers to ensure they are meeting schedule requirements and resolve any issues as necessary.

7. Provide realistic and vetted value engineering, when necessary, to the owner to reduce project costs.

8. Work directly with the field crews to ensure specifications on selection sheets are followed and installed accordingly.

9. When customer selections are changed and approved, ensure they are properly documented and communicated to all effected parties.

10. Communicate with the Director of Field Installation, Production Manager, and Working Shop Foreman to ensure schedules are met, projects are completed efficiently and within budget. Attend all production and look ahead meetings as required, distribute meeting minutes to project team.

11. Understand and stay up to date on the AISC regulations / requirements and building codes as they relate to connection, design, detailing practices, steel member dimensions and properties.

12. Complete and / or schedule field measurements as needed.

13. Travel to jobsites to gather information on project layout, materials needed, labor required and other factors. Interacts with General Contractors / Clients; including cold calling, meeting on site and holding budgetary meetings when necessary.

14. Analyze and resolve work problems; assist employees in problem solving to increase efficiency, quality improvements, streamline processes and control measures.

15. Identify project constraints and opportunities for gains in efficiency. Applies this analysis to evaluating alternate methods of production and equipment costs and quality.

Organizational Responsibilities:

1. Review and understand the extent of contractual obligations set forth in the specifications to ensure work performed / produced is completed with the contractual scope.

2. Create and maintain master schedule for R.A.D. Fabrication; including individual project schedules. Provide bi-weekly updates to the President and project team.

3. Compile, verify accuracy and completeness, and submit all submittals via each client’s preferred process. (i.e. Procore, Viewpoint, Corecon, etc.)

4. Ability to navigate and use Project Management Software. (i.e. Procore) Ensure all Project Management Software requests are checked and completed on time.

5. Maintain logs for drawings, submittals, change orders, and RFI’s. Manage the setup and update all construction documents on the shared drive for employee access.

6. Manage the Job Cost Reporting for all projects; update weekly and submit to the owner monthly.

7. Attend project meetings, including on-site, for all projects. Provide project team with action items, changes, and / or updates; including distributing minute meetings to all pertinent staff.

8. Provide job variance information updates on a weekly basis to project team.

9. Document and communicate information regarding material back orders, delivery delays, or weather delays to the proper party, and follow up until all tasks are completed.

10. Coordinate weekly meetings with project team to review project schedule needs.

11. Monitor, document, and report any variances in Job Cost Details.

12. Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work.

13. Complete project closeout; including walk throughs, punch lists, and close out documents.

14. Ensure any job site accidents / incidents are properly reported and handled with both the client and the Director of Operations.

15. Ensure all job site related documents; i.e. SSSP, SDS, Safety Plans are completed and submitted on time and accurate.

16. Assist President in overall construction budgets; including preparation of the schedule of values and expected time frames for each project.
