POSITION SUMMARY
The Head Instructor is responsible for the supervision of sport activities during the summer camp within the Department of Parks & Recreation. This position is pivotal in aiding the development and education of campers by ensuring structure, supervision, and assistance in the execution of the summer camp program. Working under the general direction of the Assistant Director, this role demands a high level of initiative and discretion and is subject to periodic evaluations upon the completion of tasks.
Work is performed during regularly scheduled hours, with the possibility of extra time as required. This role is classified as non-exempt according to the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
SELECTION GUIDELINES
The candidate selected for this position is required to have work authorization in the United States and will undergo eligibility verification at the start of their employment. Furthermore, the candidate is required to acquire all necessary clearances (including FBI, PSP, and Child Abuse History), and will be subjected to a background investigation, a pre-employment physical exam, drug and alcohol screening, and must certify adherence to the Township’s Nepotism Policy.

Working hours are Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with occasional evenings for special events.
