What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Program Assistant position at NORTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Recreation Program Assistant ("Assistant") is responsible for supervising children, ages 3-14, and providing a safe environment to all program participants. The Assistant is required to participate in all planned daily activities, as well as special events, and will work in a variety of environments, both indoors and outdoors, for extended periods of time. This position necessitates the ability to work during afternoon, evening, and weekend hours for up to twenty-four (24) hours each week.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Assistant Director, Parks & Recreation. This position does not supervise any other position.
Work is performed during regularly scheduled hours, and will involve additional hours, as needed. The position is classified as non-exempt under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
SELECTION GUIDELINES
The candidate selected for this position is required to have work authorization in the United States and will undergo eligibility verification at the start of their employment. Additionally, the applicant is required to acquire all necessary clearances (including FBI, PSP, and Child Abuse History), present a valid work permit (if necessary), will be subjected to a background investigation, a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, and must affirm compliance with the Township’s Nepotism Policy.
