What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant position at North Florida Dermatology?
We are a dermatology office with a board-certified dermatologist, Mohs surgeon, and dermatology PA. As an employee in our office, you will be responsible for providing clinical support to providers and patients. It is important to complete all duties accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling appointments
- Checking patients in and out
- Entering insurance information and verifying eligibility
- Rooming patients and documenting the chief complaint
- Documenting provider's findings in the electronic medical record system
- Setting up and assisting during biopsies, excisions, Mohs surgery, and other skin procedures
- Calling patients and communicating information (such as biopsy results and lab results) from the healthcare provider
- Preparing and cleaning exam rooms and surgical instruments
Skills
- Previous experience as a medical assistant or receptionist in a medical office (preferred but not required)
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Highly motivated
- Excellent time management skills
