Job Title : Surgical Care Coordinator Manager
Reports To : Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Supervises : Surgery Scheduling Team
Position Overview :
The Surgical Care Coordinator Manager is responsible for overseeing the surgical scheduling team to ensure efficient and accurate scheduling of surgical procedures. This role ensures optimal coordination between surgeons, patients, and facilities, maintaining high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Surgery Scheduling Oversight
- Manage the surgical scheduling team to ensure timely and accurate scheduling of surgeries and procedures.
- Coordinate with surgeons, clinical staff, and facilities to optimize surgical block time utilization.
- Ensure effective communication with patients regarding pre-operative instructions, preparations, and financial obligations.
Team Leadership and Development
Supervise and support the surgical scheduling team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance evaluations.Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.Ensure team compliance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations.Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency and patient satisfaction.Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for surgical scheduling.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling accuracy, patient communication, and operational efficiency.Collaboration and Communication
Serve as a liaison between surgeons, clinical teams, and administrative staff to resolve scheduling conflicts and enhance workflow.Coordinate with the Clinical Operations Manager to ensure integrated patient care and optimal resource utilization.Insurance Coordination and Financial Communication
Collaborate with the insurance verification team to ensure accurate patient benefit verification and authorization.Communicate financial responsibilities to patients in a clear and compassionate manner.Additional Responsibilities
Participate in staff training and development initiatives.Ensure compliance with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA).Perform other duties as assigned by the COO.Requirements : Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field preferred.Minimum of 3 years of experience in surgical scheduling or healthcare operations management.Strong leadership and communication skills.Proficiency in scheduling systems and electronic health records (e.g., Athena EHR).Knowledge of surgical workflows and insurance authorization processes.Skills and Competencies :
