We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Scrub Tech experienced in cataract surgery to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surgical teams by ensuring a sterile environment and assisting the surgeon with patient care during procedures. This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available and sterile.
- Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations by passing instruments, suctioning, and providing necessary support.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgery, providing essential support in emergency situations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams approach to deliver outstanding patient care .
- Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, including instruments used and any complications that arise.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in emergency medicine and patient care systems.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Cataract Scrub Tech or in a similar role is preferred.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and emergency medicine protocols is essential.
- Experience working within Level I or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team are crucial for success in this role.
