Position Summary:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Facilities at North Fork Mono Casino & Resort located in Madera, CA. The Director of Facilities responsibilities include ensuring that a Guest‐focused quality Maintenance Department is maintained. Responsibilities also include integration with all other departments within the property and ensuring that the facility is always well maintained. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino & Resort’s culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Prepare and administer an annual operating and capital budget for the Facilities Department. Authorize all expenditures to both budgets and is responsible for remaining at or below budget.
- Responsible for participating in both short- and long-term planning and setting achievable goals for the department and the property.
- Be a recognizable Management Team Member in all departments. Spend a portion of each workday with other departments planning, seeking input, and coordinating both daily work and projects.
- Spend a portion of each day with Team Members in the Facilities Department and actively engaged in problem solving.
- Responsible for the ultimate outcome of daily work as well as projects.
- Plan and coordinate projects utilizing a combination of Team Member and contractor efforts to bring projects to culmination. Be involved in construction projects from the planning and bidding process through completion of work.
- Prioritize work, according to the needs of the Company and the Facilities Department.
- Maintain a safe environment for internal and external Guests by ensuring adherence to safety standards and be an active member of the Safety Committee.
- Conduct interviews and hire Team Members keeping in mind the balance of skills necessary to successfully maintain a quality building.
- Be cognizant of the changing energy market. Make recommendations for changes in equipment or operating schemes to save energy and water resources whenever possible.
- Responsible for administration and supervision of a comprehensive computer-based system for preventive maintenance on all major fixed asset equipment as well as a work order system for accountability of daily work orders.
- Make informed decisions regarding repair/replacement of major fixed asset equipment.
- Develop a working relationship with various local authorities and vendors to ensure the needs of the facilities are met.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
- A working knowledge of machinery, switchgear, power equipment and electrical distribution systems, i.e. boilers, chillers, refrigeration systems, kitchen systems, air conditioning systems, water and steam generation and distribution, plumbing, pools, communication systems.
- Knowledge and proper application of current codes including building, mechanical and plumbing, electrical, health, fire and safety, as well as the authority having jurisdiction regarding the particular code(s).
- Must possess a working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Ability to coordinate multiple jobs and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to supervise subordinates and coordinate work with other departments through interpersonal relationships.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents used in building and system repairs.
- Must have good organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in a specialty or general maintenance field supporting at least 100,000 square feet in total, in a hospitality/gaming or comparable facilities environment.
- Must have a valid California driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission.
