Maintenance Lead
Position Summary : This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the 2nd and 3rd shift maintenance team, ensuring efficient operation and timely completion of maintenance tasks. This position requires hands-on technical expertise and mentoring a team of technicians. This person reports directly to the Maintenance Manager, indirectly to the Plant Manager and is an active, on-the- floor member of the Maintenance team.
The shift hours can be flexible (6pm-2am or 7pm-3am)
Responsibilities :
- Supervise, mentor and provide guidance to the 2nd and 3rd shift Maintenance Team.
- In conjunction with the Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Manager, plan, assign and prioritize daily maintenance tasks or work orders to team members.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for equipment, machinery and facilities. Ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or other issues in a timely manner.
- Work alongside the Maintenance Coordinator to monitor inventory levels for spare parts and supplies. Ensure adequate stock is available for needs.
- Provide training to new and existing team members on equipment, processes and safety protocols.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of equipment and facilities.
- Monitor the performance of equipment and systems, making recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve critical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with OEMS and vendors as needed.
- Promote a culture of safety within the team and maintenance activities. Maintain compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies.

While performing the duties of this job inside the office, the employee is frequently exposed to normal working conditions for an office environment with a noise level that is usually quiet to moderate. While performing duties of this job inside and outside the manufacturing plant, the employee is frequently exposed to normal working conditions of a food manufacturing facility with a noise level that is usually moderate to loud. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets, as well as laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand for long periods of time as well as use hands or fingers to reach or handle, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. On occasion, employee must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
Occasionally while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to machinery and moving parts, airborne particles including grain dust and hazardous materials or fumes, which may require the use of PPE. The employee may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extended seasonal hours, high precarious places, and confined spaces. The noise level in some of the work environments may require the use of hearing protection.
