Adjunct Instructor or Professor
The College of Humanities and Sciences is receiving applications for adjunct instructor/professor in the following disciplines to grow our pool of available adjuncts, some of which are online-only instruction: Psychology, American Sign Language, Health Science/Exercise Science, Linguistics, Math, and Spanish. Pay is based on level of education and course enrollment.
Online instructors must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, or Louisiana.
North Greenville University is a teaching university of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and is a tobacco and alcohol-free campus. All NGU professors are expected to be orthodox Christians who have a strong personal faith, are role models in their piety and ethics, are regularly reflecting upon how their faith influences their discipline and are willing and able to mentor students in their own relationship with Jesus Christ. Faculty are expected to teach in accordance with, and not contrary to the universitys Statement on Human Flourishing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach, as assigned, core curriculum courses (or upper-level courses), up to a maximum of 9 hours per semester
- Effectively utilize and monitor the learning management systems
- Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy and security.
- Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission
- In a timely and professional manner, communicate with, and respond to communication from, your department chair, associate dean, and dean, as well as your students, and the Office of Academic Records and other relevant staff offices.
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility: Able to move between buildings and attend classes, meetings, and functions across campus.
- Speaking: Frequently convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, professionally, and with a contextually appropriate tone and volume.
- Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and express emotions and thoughts in an honest, collegial, constructive, and prudent manner
TRAVEL
All faculty are expected to be able to travel to campus for all scheduled in-person classes.
Working Relationships and Schedule
Adjunct instructors and professors report to the chair of their department, who reports to the associate dean of their school, who reports to the Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences. Adjuncts who teach online courses will, for matters uniquely related to teaching online, report to the Program Director for the online program in which they teach, who in turn reports to the Dean of Online Programs.

- Either a masters degree or a terminal degree in the field in which you want to teach
- Relevant work experience is desirable
- Prior teaching experience not required, but appreciated
