What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct for Doctor of Education Program position at North Greenville University?
The College of Education at North Greenville University is taking applications for an adjunct instructor for courses in our Doctor of Education (EdD) online program. The primary coursework will be in teaching quantitative research methods using SPSS statistical software for data analysis.
North Greenville University is a teaching university of the South Carolina Baptist Convention and is a tobacco and alcohol-free campus. All NGU professors are expected to be orthodox Christians who have a strong personal faith, are role models in their piety and ethics, are regularly reflecting upon how their faith influences their discipline and are willing and able to mentor students in their own relationship with Jesus Christ. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct course(s) as assigned
- Prepare for course(s) by organizing and becoming familiar with student material
- Prepare lesson plans and course material as required
- Effectively organize and present subject matter to students
- Objectively assess students for academic performance
- Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation
- Effectively utilize Blackboard learning management system and SPSS statistical software
- Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy
- Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission

- Cognitive/Emotional: Ability to critically think and concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in conditions 75 to 100% of the time.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
This position is a part-time position in the College of Education. Adjuncts first report to the EdD Program Director followed by the Associate Dean of the College of Education.
WORK SCHEDULE
As required for the course taught.
TRAVEL
There are no outside travel responsibilities with this position; however, all adjuncts are expected to be able available remotely for all class sessions and occasional departmental and faculty meetings.

- A PhD or EdD from an accredited institution.
- Verifiable K12 teaching experience.
- Online teaching experience at the college level.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Blackboard and SPSS statistical software.
- Understand and comply with FERPA regulations.
- Support NGUs mission statement and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with biblical model.
- Affirm an understanding of, and willingness not to teach contrary to, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
