Part-Time Instructional Assistant
Position Summary:The Part-Time Instructional Assistant provides support to teachers and students in the kindergarten classroom by assisting with instructional activities, small group interventions, and classroom management. This position plays a key role in reinforcing learning concepts, monitoring student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers by working with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts.
- Assist in implementing instructional strategies as directed by the teacher.
- Help manage classroom materials, prepare learning activities, and maintain an organized learning space.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as recess, lunch, and transitions.
- Provide behavioral support and encouragement to students as needed.
- Assist with record-keeping, documentation, and progress monitoring.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs or intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success.
- Follow school policies and procedures to ensure student safety and well-being.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher is a plus.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow teacher guidance and adapt to student needs.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude toward working with students.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time, typically 33.75 hours per week.
- Schedule may vary based on school needs.
