Description
Are you passionate about working with youth in an outdoor setting? Camp North Homes is seeking dedicated Camp Aides to support a safe and therapeutic environment for clients participating in our outdoor programming. This role works under the guidance of a Mental Health Professional and/or Mental Health Practitioner to ensure an engaging, supportive, and secure experience for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Program Support
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all youth, staff, and participants by following Camp North Homes policies and procedures and adhering to relevant certifications (NASP, ARC Lifeguarding, etc.).
- Communicate clear expectations, guidelines, and responsibilities to staff and non-facilitating adults to maintain a secure environment.
- Support the implementation of Independent Behavior Plans by reinforcing skills, providing prompts, and encouraging positive interactions between peers and caregivers.
- Monitor behaviors and interactions, providing appropriate redirection and de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Document incidents and complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
Youth Engagement & Skill Building
- Assist youth in practicing and mastering social and behavioral skills under the direction of a Mental Health Professional or Practitioner.
- Encourage and reinforce positive behavior and skill-building activities.
- Guide participants in developing problem-solving and redirection techniques to foster emotional growth and independence.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support overall camp operations as needed.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned based on agency needs.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Passion for working with youth in an outdoor setting.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive, structured environment.
- Experience in behavioral support, youth development, or outdoor programming is a plus.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and respond effectively in crisis situations.
- Individual must be non-judgmental in regards to lifestyle, race and/or economic status of clients.
- Must be16 years old and have a valid Minnesota Drivers License.
Salary : $16 - $18
