Camp North Homes is seeking a skilled and energetic High & Low Ropes Course Specialist to lead and facilitate outdoor programming. This role involves planning, leading, and supervising activities on the high and low ropes course, ensuring that participants develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a safe and therapeutic environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for facilitating outdoor adventure programming and a commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging camp experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Camp Operations
- Ensure the safety of all youth, participants, and staff by strictly adhering to Camp North Homes policies, high/low ropes course safety protocols, and relevant certifications.
- Manage and maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment, supporting all campers in high-pressure and team-building activities.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and incident reports in accordance with camp procedures and submit to the Camp Director.
- Communicate expectations, roles, and safety guidelines to staff and participants, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities during activities.
- Manage participant behavior, communication, and interactions to foster a positive and supportive experience for all.
Ropes Course Facilitation & Programming
- Lead high and low ropes course sessions, ensuring all activities are conducted with the utmost safety, purpose, and support.
- Plan, set up, and facilitate structured ropes course challenges, tailored to different group dynamics, skill levels, and ages.
- Prepare and maintain all ropes course equipment, ensuring it is in good working order, safe, and secure.
- Supervise participants as they complete high ropes activities, providing support, encouragement, and feedback throughout the process.
- Organize team-building exercises and group activities that develop trust, communication, and collaboration.
- Adapt programming to suit weather conditions or group needs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
General Camp Support & Program Development
- Develop and propose new ropes course activities and experiences to enhance the camp’s overall program.
- Plan and lead special events, outings, and team-building challenges as part of the broader camp experience.
- Ensure that all equipment used in programming is properly stored, organized, and maintained.
- Assist with general camp activities and other camp operations as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a high-quality, supportive camp environment.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years old with a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.
- Previous experience in ropes course facilitation, outdoor programming, or youth development is preferred.
- Experience in leading high and low ropes course activities is strongly preferred.
- Certification in ropes course facilitation (or willingness to obtain) is required.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure while ensuring participant safety and enjoyment.
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions and handle a variety of group dynamics.
- Must be non-judgmental regarding the lifestyle, race, and economic status of clients.
Salary : $18 - $20
