We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Residential Mental Health Professional or Clinical Trainee to join our team at North Homes Children & Family Services. This part-time position (0.6 FTE) offers the opportunity to work in a residential setting, providing essential mental health services to children and families in the Grand Rapids area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Therapy: Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children in the assessment program. Develop and complete one comprehensive assessment each week, documenting the client’s mental health and treatment progress.
- Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning: Actively participate in team-based treatment planning, collaborating with other professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for clients.
- Diagnostic Assessment: Develop an annual diagnostic assessment for each assigned client, ensuring a thorough understanding of their mental health needs.
- Crisis Intervention: Offer crisis intervention consultation as needed, providing immediate support to clients in distress and assisting in the management of challenging situations.
- Staff Training and Development: Provide in-service training to staff as appropriate, ensuring that staff members are equipped with the necessary tools to support the mental health needs of residents.
- Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in client medical records, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and agency policies.
- Collaboration and Supervision: Work under the supervision of the Clinical Director and participate in agency-wide training programs and in-services to continue professional growth and development.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in a mental health field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
- For Mental Health Professional, current Minnesota licensure in good standing in his/her discipline by the appropriate Minnesota licensing authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative treatment team.
- Commitment to ethical, professional practice and adherence to policies and procedures.
- A solid grasp of, and commitment to, the ethical principles governing the professional practice of his/her discipline.
