What are the responsibilities and job description for the UTILIZATION REVIEW CASE MANAGER - CASE MANAGEMENT position at NORTH IDAHO DAY SURGERY LLC?
Northwest Specialty is seeking a patient-focused and detail-oriented Utilization Review Case Manager to join our Case Management team!
The individual in this position is responsible to facilitate care along a continuum through effective resource coordination to help patients achieve optimal health, access to care and appropriate utilization of resources, balanced with the patient’s resources and right to self-determination. The individual in this position has overall responsibility for ensuring that care is provided at the appropriate level of care based on medical necessity and to assess the patient for transition needs to promote timely throughput, safe discharge and prevent avoidable readmissions.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Extensive sonography education, training, and experience in the specialty area(s) to be performed.
- Extensive clinical experience in providing sonography services and demonstrated ability to mentor and support staff sonographers.
- Demonstrated competence in the specialty area(s) to be performed, including sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning (e.g., continuing medical education in the specialty area(s) performed, higher education, research, staff training, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs for documentation activities and report generation.
- Must be able to achieve Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of employment

- Active Idaho Registered Nurse license or Masters Social Work license
- 5 Years acute orthopedic surgical hospital nursing or social work experience and 2 – 3 years acute hospital Case Management experience
