Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Counselor to join our team. As a Resident Counselor, you will be responsible for providing care and support to juveniles.
Responsibilities:
- Cook and prepare meals for residents.
-Organize plans implements and supervises daily activities of residents in this highly structured secure program.
- Provides group and individual guidance for individual residents.
-Admits new residents, records intake information, interviews youth, and completes all necessary paperwork and contacts.
- Dispenses medication after appropriate training.
-Ability to work on computers.
-Communicates with coworkers and supervisors on a professional level.
-Must be on time for scheduled shifts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred)
- Previous experience working with youth/ juveniles
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassionate nature and genuine interest in supporting others
