North Jersey Federal Credit Union is seeking a talented, exceptional, and enthusiastic go-getter to join the team as a Member Relationship Specialist (Universal Banker). As an MRS, you will be responsible for conducting teller transactions and cash vault transactions in an accurate and timely manner. You will also be responsible for the sales and servicing of all credit union products and services. You will work with the operations and sales team to achieve goals in the areas of loan, membership, and deposit growth. You will also be responsible for maintaining knowledge of the credit union’s products, services, and current promotions. You will also be responsible for providing operational support and exceptional customer service while maintaining essential controls and safeguards.
Job Role / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Providing Exceptional Service
- Meets or exceeds established monthly referral and sales goals for loans, membership, and deposit growth.
- Process teller transactions in an accurate and timely manner (e.g. deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers, check cashing, negotiable purchasing, etc.)
- Process and validate the accuracy of coin and currency amounts related to incoming and outgoing cash shipments.
- Process assigned reports and/or job duties in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, balancing/loading the ATM/TCR, teller cash box, coin machine, negotiables, vault, etc.
- Process member service transactions in an accurate and timely manner on savings, checking, certificates, individual retirement accounts, loans, etc.
- Accurately process transactions and new account openings in a timely and professional manner
- Maintains current Credit Union products and service knowledge.
- Must have a thorough understanding of the member’s transaction requirements and be able to effectively communicate all available options to them.
- Evaluate the needs of potential members and offer appropriate financial products and services.
- Must process in-person & electronic loan applications by collecting all necessary loan documentation for review by underwriters and completing the loan closing.
- Explain the loan process to include loan options, insurance requirements, options on loan products, loan policies, interest rates, payoffs, etc.
- Actively cross-sell/educate on Credit Union products and services by analyzing credit bureau reports.
- Complies and maintains current knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures.
Qualifications
What you will need to have
- At least 1 year of cash handling experience.
- At least 1 year of teller experience in a financial institution.
- At least 2 years of customer service experience.
- At least 2 years of sales experience in a financial institution with individual sales goals
- High school degree or GED required.
