What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Technician position at North Jersey Friendship House?
Position Title: Floor Technician
Department: Janitorial Department
FTE/Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports To: Assistant Director of Maintenance
Location: 125 Atlantic Street, Hackensack, NJ
Primary Function: The position is responsible for maintenance of all types of floors including: VCT, stone, quarry, other hard surfaces and various types of carpet cleaning.
Essential Functions Include:
- Must have experience and be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment, including but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, carpet cleaning equipment, etc.
- Must be able to pick up and carry up to 25lbs of equipment/supplies, etc.
- Proper maintenance of equipment (before and after use) is necessary.
- Must be punctual and able to stay longer if the job is not complete.
- Will travel to various locations as directed by the Assistant Director of Maintenance.
- When there is down time, or no floor work needed, you must be willing to participate in other similar janitorial duties to maintain hours.
- Flexibility working with other crews when needed.
- From time to time, you will need to communicate with clients of NJFH. Must always maintain professional demeanor.
- Must wear company approved attire and always have employee ID on.
Schedule:
- This is a part-time position.
- Hours may vary from week to week, but it will be based on Monday - Friday (4:30PM - 10:00PM) with possible weekends, depending on location of floor work.
- Weekly hours will be based on a 29 hour per week routine schedule.
- The Floor Technician will start and end at the main office in Hackensack and will need to pick up a company vehicle and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum one year of floor care experience (required)
- Experience driving larger vehicles (i.e. cargo van, box truck (1 year required)
- Valid driver license (required)
- Clean Driving Record (required)
