Director of Federal Programs and Elementary Education
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Missouri Elementary Principal certificate
2. Master’s in Education, Ed.D. in Education preferred
3. At least five years experience in teaching and school administration.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
REPORTS TO : Executive Director of Special Programs and Executive Director of
Elementary Education
SUPERVISES : Federal programs and partners with the Executive Director of Elementary Education to support elementary principals
JOB GOAL : To lead strategic oversight of federal programs and improve student achievement
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other administrators, public agencies, community members, etc.) to implement and/or maintain services and programs.
- Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. staff, public agencies, etc.) to analyze issues, ensure compliance with federal and organizational policies and procedures, and/or monitor program components.
- Coordinates program components, support needs, and materials to deliver services that conform to established state and district guidelines.
- Facilitates and/or participates in meetings (e.g. federal programs, outside agencies, other districts, non-public schools, etc.) for federal programs compliance, partnerships, and serving as a District representative.
- Monitors budget allocations, expenditures, fund balances, and related financial activities to ensure that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits, and/or fiscal practices are followed.
- Prepares a wide variety of often complex materials (e.g. plans, budgets, funding requests, reports, analyses, recommendations, procedures, etc.) to document activities and issues, meet compliance requirements, provide audit references, make presentations, and/or provide supporting materials for requested actions.
- Presents information (e.g. budget overviews, program overviews, best practices research, etc.) to communicate information, gain feedback, and ensure adherence to established internal controls.
- Provides instructional leadership support to elementary principals with a results-oriented focus.
- Provides support with elementary curriculum development and implementation.
- Provides support to ensure implementation of effective instructional strategies and classroom look fors aligned to the North Kansas City instructional model.
- Collaborates with the Executive Director of Elementary Education on formative and summative performance-based evaluations of elementary principals on an annual basis.
- Coordinates summer school and oversees the operation of the programming
- Coordinates and supports virtual learning
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or the Deputy Superintendent of Academic Services.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a moderate amount of travel and physical activity.

EVALUATION: The performance of this job will be evaluated by provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance Based Administrator Evaluation process.
