Sales Associate - 30 hours / week

Job purpose

The sales associate focuses on customer service, store appearance, and accurate, quick transactions. The candidate is team-oriented, friendly, and dedicated to providing the customer with a first-class retail experience.

Duties and responsibilities

• Operate a cash register including all cash and credit card transactions.
• Greet customers upon arrival, providing assistance, answering questions and ensuring a positive shopping experience upon check out.
• Ensure the sales floor is stocked, clean and organized, with merchandise neatly arranged.
• Address customer concerns or complaints in a friendly and professional manner.
• Follow organization’s policies and procedures regarding cash handling.
• Ensures store is well maintained including but not limited to; dusting, mopping, hanging clothing, and other duties as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Position may include cross-training in the following areas: Receiving, pricing, stocking donations, and receiving donations from the public.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Production, retail, or similar experience
• Available to work store hours, including some Saturdays
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights (up to 50 pounds)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
