Part-Time Groundsman Position – Tree Service
Location: Willis, TX
We are hiring a part-time groundsman with the potential for full-time employment in the future.
Pay: Starting at $20/hour
Schedule: Day shift, some weekends as needed
Expected Hours: 15–30 hours per week
Major Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to safely tow and operate dump trailers and other equipment.
- Familiarity with towing and backing up equipment and trailers is required.
- Must be dependable, drug-free, and ready to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation to Willis, TX.
- Ability to lift at least 80 lbs and perform labor-intensive tasks outdoors.
- No violent criminal history or open criminal cases.
- Shifts start at 7:30 AM, Monday-Friday.
Duties:
- Assist climbers with tree trimming and removal by managing ropes, handling debris, and ensuring smooth ground operations.
- Safely operate chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other equipment (training provided).
- Clear and dispose of tree branches, logs, and other debris from job sites.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and properly store tools/equipment.
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Support the team in assessing job sites and preparing the area for tree work.
Experience:
- Prior outdoor labor experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and other small engines is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic tree care practices, including identifying hazardous branches, is a plus.
