Career Center Full-Time Substitute Teacher
JOB TITLE: Career Center Full-Time Substitute Teacher
REPORTS TO: Career Center Director
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
- Full-time substitute to enable each child to pursue his/her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the principal or designee upon arrival at the building with necessary forms.
- Assumes responsibility for behavior in class and during passing periods
- Maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classroom assigned as fully as possible.
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
- Remains in an assigned classroom until the official school closing.
- Reports to the director at the conclusion of the teaching day to review placement for the following day
- Teaches the lessons outlined and described in the classroom teacher's lesson plans as prepared by the absent teacher.
- Writes a report about work completed at the end of each teaching day; leave it for the regular classroom teacher.
- Reviews all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day with the principal, team leader, or department head.
- Monitor all students' safety in the classroom.
- Assist all students with assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Driver's License
- Appropriate Sub Permit
- Pass a background check
- Demonstrates a desire to aid all students
- Substitute Packet with Administration Building
- Demonstrated teaching, oral & written communication skills, technology, and leadership skills. Able to give instruction to students. The ability to respond to individual student needs.
- Must be willing to gain general knowledge of various career center programs, including industry prevalent equipment, software, materials, procedures, etc.
- Must be willing to earn certifications for CPR, First Aid, and Stop the Bleed if not already certified
