Computer Science Instructor
JOB TITLE: Career Center Computer Science Instructor
REPORTS TO: Amy Redman
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
- Teach computer science at the North Lawrence Career Center; possibly in combination with introductory computer science courses for Bedford North Lawrence High School
- Topics include
- Operating systems
- Database technology
- Cybersecurity
- Cloud implementations
- Algorithms, logic development, and flowcharting
- Artificial intelligence
- App/game development and security
- Procedural programming (data types, control structures, functions, arrays, testing and debugging mechanics)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, plan, and implement curriculum and education programs in accordance with building, corporation, and state guidelines
- Establish, plan, and host program advisory board meetings as directed by CTE director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma and 5,000 hours of work experience in the field with willingness and ability to pursue an Indiana Workplace Specialist educator license -OR- ability to become licensed in content area using alternative Indiana teacher licensure methods
- Occupational licensure, completion of apprenticeship or internship program, accredited 2-year degree or higher in specific certification area is preferred
- Knowledge of content areas including industry prevalent equipment, software, materials, procedures, etc.
