The North Lawrence Career Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Temporary Welding Instructor to join our team. The instructor will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in welding techniques and safety procedures to students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, strong technical skills, and the ability to engage and inspire students in a hands-on learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement welding curriculum aligned with industry standards and educational goals.
- Conduct classroom lectures and hands-on demonstrations in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
- Teach students about safety protocols, equipment handling, and proper welding practices.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through practical exams, projects, and written assessments.
- Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment, ensuring all equipment is in working order.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students, fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to integrate welding skills into broader vocational programs.
- Stay current with advancements in welding technology and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in welding technology or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) and teaching credentials preferred.

- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety regulations.
