Job Description: Girls Assistant Soccer Coach at BNL High School
Position Overview:
BNL High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Soccer Coach to support the development and success of our soccer program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, effective coaching techniques, and the ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to plan and implement training sessions, strategies, and game-day preparations—reports to the Head Soccer Coach and Athletic Director.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting engaging and effective soccer practices focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fitness.
Collaborate with the coaching staff to analyze opponent teams and develop game strategies.
Provide individualized coaching and feedback to players to enhance their technical and tactical skills.
Attend all team practices, games, and events as required, including occasional weekend travel for away games.
Help maintain a positive, inclusive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, respect, and discipline.
Assist in organizing team events, fundraisers, and community outreach activities.
Monitor and promote the academic progress and well-being of student-athletes.
Uphold the school's and district's policies and guidelines for athlete conduct and safety.
Contribute to equipment management, field setup, and other logistical tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Prior experience playing soccer at a competitive level is preferred.
Coaching experience is an advantage, particularly at the high school or club level.
Strong understanding of soccer rules, strategies, and coaching methodologies.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions, provide feedback, and interact with players, parents, and staff.
Enthusiastic, positive, and collaborative approach to coaching and teamwork.
Ability to inspire and motivate athletes to achieve their full potential on and off the field.
Commitment to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for all players.
Availability during after-school hours, evenings, and weekends for practices and games.
Requirements:
Valid coaching certifications or willingness to obtain required certifications.
Completion of background checks and other necessary clearances as per school district policy.
Adherence to all school and district policies and procedures.
