Job Title: Middle School Renaissance Club Sponsor
Job Overview: The Middle School Renaissance Club Sponsor will serve as the facilitator and advisor for the Renaissance Club, a student-driven organization dedicated to fostering academic achievement, promoting positive behavior, and enhancing school spirit. The Renaissance Club focuses on recognizing and celebrating student accomplishments, encouraging a culture of excellence, and creating a positive, inclusive school environment. This position will require regular collaboration with school administrators, teachers, and students to plan and execute club activities, reward initiatives, and school-wide events.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to club members.
- Encourage student involvement and participation in Renaissance Club activities.
- Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive club environment where students feel motivated to contribute.
Event Planning and Coordination:
- Organize and oversee Renaissance Club events, including but not limited to academic recognition ceremonies, spirit days, community service projects, and school-wide celebrations.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to coordinate school-wide initiatives that align with the Renaissance program’s goals.
Student Recognition:
- Develop systems to recognize student achievements in academics, behavior, and leadership.
- Coordinate the nomination and selection process for Renaissance students of the month, quarter, or year.
- Implement reward systems, such as certificates, prizes, and public acknowledgment of students’ accomplishments.
Communication:
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, parents, and staff regarding Renaissance Club events and initiatives.
- Manage the Renaissance Club's presence on school communication platforms (e.g., newsletters, social media, etc.) to highlight achievements and activities.
Collaboration with School Staff:
- Work closely with teachers and staff to identify students for recognition and develop incentive programs that encourage academic success and positive behavior.
- Attend school staff meetings and collaborate on developing strategies to improve student engagement, school culture, and morale.
Administrative Duties:
- Keep accurate records of student participation, attendance at events, and recognition nominations.
- Manage club budgets and resources, ensuring that all activities and rewards are financially sustainable and in alignment with school policies.
Supervision and Safety:
- Supervise Renaissance Club meetings and activities to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
- Maintain a professional and positive role model for students.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Student Services, or related field (preferred).
- Previous experience working with middle school students or in a student leadership role (preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to inspire students to excel and contribute to a positive school culture.
Time Commitment:
- Typically 4-6 hours per week, including meetings, event planning, and coordination. Some evening or weekend time may be required for events.
